Madden NFL ’94 (Genesis) GENESIS
About Madden NFL ’94 (Genesis)
Madden NFL ’94 (Genesis) is Electronic Arts’ November 1993 release for the platform, developed by High Score Productions as a separate build from the same-day SNES version. Like its SNES sibling it carries real NFL team licenses for the first time in the series but no NFLPA player likenesses, so players remain identified by jersey number only.
The Genesis build includes voice clips absent from the SNES version, giving it a more arcade-like presentation, though it trades away the SNES edition’s Mode 7 spinning-field transition in exchange. Both versions were built under John Madden’s own input and share the same underlying rules and playbook despite the platform-specific presentation differences.
