About Zero Tolerance

Zero Tolerance is a 1994 first-person shooter built specifically for the Genesis by Technopop, released late in the console’s life when most FPS development had already moved to PC and newer hardware. You lead a three-member strike team through a space station overrun by an alien infestation, switching between squadmates and their distinct weapon loadouts.

Accolade published it in North America; a planned European release was cancelled. It’s one of relatively few original FPS titles on 16-bit console hardware, built around raycasting techniques similar in spirit to id Software’s contemporary PC titles but adapted for the Genesis’s controller and processing limits — a genre the system rarely attempted.
