Pokémon Silver GAMEBOY
About Pokémon Silver
Pokémon Silver is Game Freak’s 1999 Game Boy Color companion release to Pokémon Gold, sharing the same Johto-region campaign, day-night clock, and post-game trip back to Kanto, distinguished mainly by which Pokémon appear exclusively in each version — the same trading-driven design the series had used since Red and Blue.
Beyond the paired version-exclusive content, Silver carries the same generational upgrades as Gold: two new Pokémon types, breeding, held items, and a significantly expanded Pokédex. The Gold and Silver pair is frequently cited by longtime fans as one of the series’ strongest generations for how much it built onto the original games’ foundation without discarding what made them work.
