About Mega Man V

Mega Man V is Capcom’s 1994 Game Boy entry, the last of the handheld sub-series’ four original numbered installments. It introduces a space-set storyline involving the villain Sunstar and his Stardroids, alongside a new item — Mega Man’s robotic partner Beat, first seen in the NES games — that can now be called on more freely to attack enemies from the air.

Like the other Game Boy Mega Man games, it remixes and reintroduces past bosses rather than sticking strictly to new ones, though its space setting and Stardroid cast give it a more distinct visual identity than some earlier handheld entries. As the final numbered Game Boy Mega Man game, it closed out the sub-series before Capcom shifted its handheld efforts toward the Mega Man Xtreme spin-offs.
