Super Punch-Out!! is Nintendo’s 1994 SNES boxing game, developed internally by Nintendo Integrated Research & Development as the sequel to the NES’s Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!/Punch-Out!!. You once again play the undersized boxer Little Mac, working through a roster of exaggerated international opponents by studying and reacting to each one’s distinct tell-based attack patterns.
It keeps the series’ pattern-recognition combat formula intact while adding new mechanics like a star-power special punch and a wider cast of opponents with more elaborate animated intros. Releasing late in the SNES’s life in October 1994, it’s often overshadowed by the original NES games’ star-studded Mike Tyson branding, but it’s widely regarded by longtime fans as a worthy, mechanically refined continuation of the series.
