Syndicate GENESIS
About Syndicate
Syndicate is Bullfrog Productions’ cyberpunk strategy game, originally released for MS-DOS and Amiga in 1993 with this Genesis port following in 1994. Designed by Sean Cooper, you direct a four-person squad of cyborg agents across isometric city maps, completing missions like assassinating rival executives, persuading civilians to defect, or eliminating enemy syndicate agents outright.
Its blend of real-time squad tactics with a strategic corporate-conquest layer — expanding your syndicate’s territory city by city, researching new weapons and cybernetic upgrades between missions — set it apart from more traditional turn-based strategy games of the era. Praised on release for its violent, morally bleak cyberpunk presentation, it cemented Bullfrog’s reputation as a top strategy studio alongside its earlier Populous and Powermonger games.
