Castlevania NES

Castlevania is Konami's 1986 action platformer, released first on the Famicom Disk System and then on the NES. Vampire hunter Simon Belmont enters Dracula's castle with his whip to defeat the Count once and for all.

The castle is full of classic horror monsters, including Medusa heads, a giant bat, mummies and Frankenstein's monster. Simon can pick up sub-weapons like axes, daggers and holy water, using hearts as ammunition. Its deliberate jumps, gothic atmosphere and memorable music made it the start of a legendary series.
