Beyond Oasis GENESIS

Beyond Oasis is Ancient’s 1994 action-adventure for the Genesis, released in Japan and Europe as The Story of Thor. Playing as Prince Ali, you explore a desert kingdom armed with a magic gauntlet that summons elemental spirits — a friendly golem, a water sprite, a firebird, and more — each granting different puzzle-solving and combat abilities while active.

Its combination of real-time action combat, environmental puzzles built around the spirit-summoning system, and detailed sprite animation drew frequent comparisons to Nintendo’s Zelda series at the time, standing out as one of the more visually ambitious action-adventures in the Genesis library during its later years.
