Demon’s Crest SNES
About Demon’s Crest
Demon’s Crest is Capcom’s 1994 platform game for the SNES, released in Japan that October as Demon’s Blazon and in North America the following month. It’s the third game starring Firebrand — the gargoyle enemy from Ghosts ‘n Goblins, known as Red Arremer in Japan — following his two earlier Game Boy outings in the Gargoyle’s Quest series.
Produced by series creator Tokuro Fujiwara, it lets players freely choose which stage or boss to tackle next from a Mode 7-scaled overworld map, collecting crest items that grant Firebrand new forms and abilities as the game progresses. Despite being considered a commercial disappointment at release, it’s since become one of the more critically reassessed cult classics in Capcom’s SNES catalog.
