Puzzle Bobble ARCADE

Puzzle Bobble is Taito’s 1994 puzzle game, built on the Bubble Bobble cast and world — Bub and Bob return here as bubble-shooting dragons rather than platforming heroes. You aim and fire colored bubbles from the bottom of the screen, matching three or more of the same color to clear them before the descending bubble ceiling reaches the bottom.

Its simple, precise aiming mechanic and two-player competitive mode — clearing bubbles drops junk bubbles onto the opponent’s side — made it one of the most influential puzzle games of the 1990s, spawning an enormous number of official sequels and countless unofficial clones under names like Bust-a-Move outside Japan. Its color-matching bubble-shooter format remains a recognizable puzzle-game template today.
