Panorama Cotton GENESIS

Panorama Cotton is Success's 1994 shooter for the Mega Drive, published by Sunsoft and released only in Japan. The third game in the Cotton series stars Cotton, a young witch who loves magical Willow candies, and her fairy companion Silk.

Unlike the earlier side-scrolling Cotton games, it's a behind-the-back rail shooter in the style of Space Harrier. Cotton flies into the screen over bright fantasy landscapes, shooting enemies and powering up her magic. Its smooth pseudo-3D scaling and colorful anime art made it one of the most impressive late Mega Drive shooters.
