Bomberman NES
About Bomberman
Bomberman is Hudson Soft’s NES version of its own franchise, first released in Japan in December 1985 and brought to North America in January 1989, several years after its original Japanese debut. You play a robot trapped in an underground maze, laying timed bombs to blast through destructible walls and reach an exit while avoiding roaming enemies.
Its formula — grid-based maze navigation, chain-reaction bomb blasts, and item pickups that boost bomb count, range, or speed — established the template the entire Bomberman series has followed since, later becoming best known for its multiplayer battle mode rather than the single-player campaign featured here. The NES release is the version that introduced the character to a wide Western audience for the first time.
