DuckTales NES
About DuckTales
DuckTales is Capcom’s 1989 NES platformer based on the Disney animated series, directed by Keiji Inafune with Tokuro Fujiwara producing — the same key team behind the original Mega Man games released the same year. Playing as Scrooge McDuck, you explore five non-linear stages (Amazon, Transylvania, African Mines, Himalayas, and the Moon) hunting treasure in any order.
Its signature mechanic uses Scrooge’s cane as a pogo stick, letting him bounce on enemies and objects for both attack and traversal — a move that shaped the game’s level design around vertical bouncing puzzles rather than standard jumping. Widely regarded as one of the best licensed games of the NES era, it later got a faithful HD remake, DuckTales: Remastered, in 2013.
