About Super Metroid
Super Metroid is Nintendo's 1994 action-adventure for the Super NES, developed by Nintendo R&D1 with Intelligent Systems. Bounty hunter Samus Aran returns to planet Zebes after Ridley steals the last Metroid larva from a research station.
You explore one huge interconnected world, finding upgrades like the Morph Ball, Grapple Beam and Speed Booster that open up new paths. Hidden passages are everywhere, and the auto-map helps you keep track of them. Its atmosphere, nonlinear design and speedrunning potential made it a defining game of the genre now called Metroidvania.
