About Zombies Ate My Neighbors

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is a run-and-gun game developed by LucasArts and published by Konami in 1993 for the SNES, with a Genesis port following partway through development. One or two players control suburban teens Zeke and Julie, working through horror-movie-themed levels to rescue captured neighbors from zombies, chainsaw killers, giant ants, and other B-movie monsters before time runs out.

Rather than traditional firearms, players fight back with everyday household items reimagined as weapons — squirt guns, silverware, a weed whacker — matching the game’s tongue-in-cheek horror-parody tone, composed by Joseph McDermott. It sold modestly on release but has built a lasting cult following for its dark humor and co-op chaos, later followed by a 1994 sequel, Ghoul Patrol.
