Galaxy Force II GENESIS
About Galaxy Force II
Galaxy Force II is Sega’s 1988 pseudo-3D rail shooter, built on the same “Super Scaler” sprite-scaling arcade hardware as Space Harrier and After Burner. You pilot the TRY-Z starfighter through six sectors, weaving between obstacles and enemy fire in a fixed forward-scrolling path.
Activision published the 1990 Genesis conversion, which reworks the arcade’s steep sprite-scaling effect for the console’s more limited hardware while keeping the original’s sense of speed and its distinctive checkpoint-to-checkpoint structure. It remains one of the more technically ambitious pseudo-3D efforts on the system.
