Romance of the Three Kingdoms III: Dragon of Destiny SNES

Romance of the Three Kingdoms III: Dragon of Destiny is Koei’s third entry in the series, released for SNES and Genesis in Japan in November 1992 with a North American release the following year, composed by Minoru Mukaiya. Players choose from six historical scenarios setting the initial balance of power among China’s warring factions, then take command of a ruler working to unite the country.

It expands the series’ scope beyond the first two games’ single-scenario structure, layering kingdom management, officer relationships, diplomacy, and army movement into a broader turn-based strategy simulation. While it takes the historical novel’s setting and cast as its starting point, the actual campaign plays out however each match unfolds rather than reenacting the book’s specific events.
