Captain Commando ARCADE
About Captain Commando
Captain Commando is Capcom’s 1991 beat-’em-up, built on the CPS-1 arcade board that also powered Final Fight. Up to four players choose from a squad of four heroes with distinct movesets — Captain Commando himself, the bo-staff-wielding Ginzu the Ninja, the giant Mack the Knife, and Sho the Baby Head, a toddler piloting a robot suit — and fight through a near-future crime-ridden city.
It leans further into science-fiction and comic-book absurdity than most of Capcom’s other brawlers from the period, with boss designs and stage themes that swing between cyberpunk gang warfare and outright monster-movie pastiche. The title character would later appear as a cameo and namesake across several other Capcom franchises.
