The King of Fighters ’95 ARCADE
About The King of Fighters ’95
The King of Fighters ’95 is SNK’s 1995 fighting game, the second entry in the King of Fighters series following the original 1994 game, released to Neo Geo arcade hardware that July. It continues the three-on-three team-battle tournament format, with the returning villain Rugal Bernstein seeking revenge against protagonist Kyo Kusanagi after being defeated in the previous year’s tournament.
It replaces KOF ’94’s USA Team with a new Rival Team while keeping most of the returning cast intact, refining the original’s team-battle mechanics rather than overhauling them. As the game that began building out the series’ ongoing Orochi storyline arc, it’s frequently cited by longtime fans as the point where King of Fighters started developing the deeper narrative continuity that defined its mid-90s entries.
