Fire Shark GENESIS
About Fire Shark
Fire Shark is Toaplan’s 1990 vertical-scrolling shoot-’em-up, ported to the Genesis in 1993 by Seismic Software. You fly a WWII-era biplane through wave after wave of enemy fire, collecting power-up pods that upgrade your main weapon and bombs between stages.
The arcade original ran on Toaplan’s own hardware and was already known for dense bullet patterns; the home conversion keeps that difficulty largely intact, trading a small amount of screen real estate for the Genesis’s chunkier sprite work. It’s a straightforward, score-chasing shooter with no frills beyond stage-to-stage weapon variety.
