Warrior of Rome GENESIS

Warrior of Rome is Micronet’s real-time strategy game for the Genesis, released in Japan in February 1991 and North America that May. Set during Julius Caesar’s military campaigns around 48 BCE, you command Roman legions across historical battlefields, managing troop movement and combat as Caesar’s forces expand Rome’s influence.

Its real-time approach to ancient-warfare strategy was relatively uncommon on consoles at the time, when most strategy titles in the genre still favored turn-based systems. Its historical framing and legion-management mechanics found a smaller but dedicated audience, enough to warrant a sequel, Warrior of Rome II, continuing the same real-time Roman-conquest formula.
