About The Punisher
The Punisher is Capcom’s 1993 licensed beat-’em-up, running on the CPS-1 board and letting one or two players take on Frank Castle and Nick Fury as they fight through a story built around the Punisher’s usual mob-and-crime-syndicate targets rather than his more common comic-book supervillain rogues’ gallery.
It follows the same city-brawling structure Capcom had already established with Final Fight, but leans further into gun-based combat alongside melee attacks, fitting the character’s comic-book identity more than the punch-and-kick focus typical of the genre. It’s one of several Marvel-licensed arcade brawlers Capcom released in the early-to-mid 1990s.
